Plantago major, also known as broadleaf plantain, and greater plantain, is a species of flowering plant in the family Plantaginaceae. The plant is native to Europe and northern and central Asia. Plantain helps the body expel excess mucus making it an effective treatment for cough. The herb contains anti-inflammatory properties and can aid in wound healing.
