Fucus vesiculosus, also known as black tang, rock wrack, rockweed, bladder fucus, sea oak, cut weed, dyers fucus, and bladderwrack, is a species of algae that grows in seas and oceans. This seaweed is valuable for its iodine content which stimulates the thyroid gland. The herb appears to raise the metabolic rate by increasing hormone production by they thyroid.
