To make a herbal compress, first prepare an infusion or decoction from your chosen herb(s). Then use a cloth to soak up the infusion and finally lay on to the skin. You may also create an herbal ball by wrapping your herbs directly in a cloth and tying the cloth together. Soak your herbal ball in hot water for 10-15 minutes then apply to any area of the body.

Example Compresses:
The simplest option is to add the herbs to a jug, pour in the hot water, cover the jug to stop volatile oils from evaporating away, and allow the herbs to steep for 5 to 10 minutes. The tea can then be strained and ready to drink hot.
